Web and Identity: Faye Bender Literary Agency

Faye Bender Literary Agency hired Trillamar to build a new website to showcase the numerous high profile authors the agency represents, and help qualify prospective clients. Also part of this project was the creation of a new company logo, letterhead and business cards.

Like the vast majority of WordPress projects, this website is hyper-optimized for search engines and features a long list of books and authors that the Agency represents.

Asante Partners is an investment bank that specializes in mergers and strategic partnerships. Trillamar collaborated with Asante to establish a new company identity by means of a logo and custom website. After 10 year in business, the partners of Asante knew their success had come through a clear, streamlined and exacting approach to everything. They wanted a website that reflected that both visually and functionally.

We deployed WordPress for Asante so they could make updates to the client-related content as often as they liked. We also built a custom open and close mechanism to declutter and further streamline the web experience.

Web Development: Empirasign

Empirasign is a provider of financial market trading models. Institutions worldwide use them to make money off the movements of the stock market and currencies. Empirasign offers dozens of free trading reports in the form of tabular data linked to graphs and third party sites.

Trillamar built the Empirasign site on the popular WordPress content management system, which allowed the Client to add new products when they were available. To manage the heavy data movement, we built an XML platform that updated reports every two minutes. We also built a subscriber’s section of the website, an animated banner in flash, as well as a module to display the Client’s twitter feed.

Empirasign is another example of a business delivering high value content through Web 2.0 technologies, many of which are open source or free.

Search Engine Marketing: Sage Personal Finance

Sage Personal Finance is an online debtor education website, where people going through bankruptcy take a course, much like traffic school. This client didn’t ask for any design or development work. They just needed help with their Search Engine Marketing — Google AdWords, Yahoo sponsored search, MSN, etc.

Through a few rounds of tests, we worked together to segment web surfers into groups at different points in the decision making process. We also implemented conversion tracking. The end results were staggering. We more than quadrupled sales. Not all Clients experience this much success in search engine marketing. Sage had a huge available market that we enabled them to reach.

Ecommerce: Emilia Ceramics

In ‘08, we built a website for Emilia Ceramics based on the widely popular open source ecommerce platform osCommerce. The beauty of this website, besides that fact that it sells gorgeous hand crafted pottery from Italy, Mexico, Spain and France, is that our client really uses the custom features we built. We crafted a custom shopping interface with a telescoping left navigation and product thumbnails, built out a UPS shipping module, and created a special “about the artist” capability to highlight how special the manufacturers are.

With the beautiful interface we created, Emilia Ceramics can expand or contract or reorganize their store whenever they want. Emilia has had a lot of success with their wedding registry, so we added some additional features to support that part of their business as well.

Web Development: Charlotte Brody

Charlotte Brody is a New York based women’s clothing designer that sells mainly through trunkshows. They rely heavily on web and email marketing to build anticipation and demand for each new season. Trillamar built their website which includes a custom portfolio page that allows for streamlined updates as each new season’s collection is rolled out.

The Charlotte Brody website is successful not only because of the powerful technology we implemented using Adobe Flex (a development add-on to Flash), but also because they never fail to design beautiful clothes and photograph them impeccably.

Basic Web: Emily Franklin Author’s Website

Trillamar built this straightforward site for Emily Franklin, a prolific author. Design-wise, it needed to appeal to both young adult and adult audiences, and it needed to support the ever-growing list of books authored by Emily. The client liked the aesthetic we achieved– messy yet elegant.

Besides building this site, we implemented Amazon Associates so that any sales from her site earned her commissions at Amazon.

Basic Web: Green Wedding Book website

Mireya Navarro is a NY Times writer who wrote a book on the art of the Green Wedding. Author, environmental beat writer, and blogger, Mireya needed a site she could really take ownership of. She writes often and publishes often, so the obvious choice for the engine behind her new website was WordPress.

Trillamar deployed WordPress with a ton of powerful add-ons, such as Search Engine Optimization, spam filtering, share this (for email and social networking), plus a cool, FREE book previewer, issuu.com. The site was a breeze to deploy and Mireya is really using the blog capabilities to constantly promote herself and her book.

Web Development: Scalable Network Technologies

Scalable Network Technologies is a software company in the computer networking space. They have a large web presence and generate the vast majority of their sales leads through their website. Trillamar built this site for them in 2009, and we continue to maintain it today.

The website runs on WordPress, an open source Content Management System originally designed for blogging. SNT uses every manner of plug-in and open source software for this site, including a custom right navigation with context-specific links, ties to a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application, a discussion board for customer support, a knowledgebase, email marketing software, etc.
